The mission of FemiliPNG Australia is to be an effective, efficient, and ethical organisation supporting local solutions to family and sexual violence (FSV) in Papua New Guinea (PNG). FemiliPNG Australia recognises that local people, local communities, and local organisations are best placed to respond to the needs of Papua New Guinean families. We therefore aim to be a good partner, providing technical expertise, governance, and financial support to assist Femili PNG to increase their organisational capability and impact.
FemiliPNG Australia ensures that the capabilities of our workforce meets the needs of Femili PNG. By working together, we foster a resilient and adaptive organisation that can respond to emerging challenges, scale its services, and continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by FSV in PNG.

6. Project monitoring and evaluation
FemiliPNG Australia visits the Goroka Outpost1 on a regular basis to monitor the progress of the project. During a visit, FemiliPNG Australia will meet with project staff and discuss what has been working well, what can be improved, and gather any information to report to donors.
In February 2025, FemiliPNG Australia CEO and Program Lead visited the Goroka Outpost. This visit provided a unique opportunity to learn more about the day-to-day work of the team, visit a community-based safehouse and work with the team to plan for future activities.
In April 2025, the Goroka project was evaluated to identify the successes and challenges of the Outpost from February 2021 to January 2025 and to suggest ways to improve the service for survivors of FSV and SARV. A PNG based independent evaluator led the evaluation with FemiliPNG Australia providing ongoing support throughout the process. The evaluation included perspectives from Femili PNG management, staff, volunteers, other service providers in Goroka and service users.
The evaluation findings and recommendations were presented to Femili PNG and FemiliPNG Australia. The findings will be made publicly available at a later date.
