FemiliPNG Australia Raises over $41,000 to Support Survivors of Family and Sexual Violence in Papua New Guinea

FemiliPNG Australia raises over $41,000 at the Canberra Times Marathon Festival to support survivors of family and sexual violence in Papua New Guinea

Runners and supporters at the PNG High Commission, Canberra on Sunday 13 April 2025

Femili PNG is pleased to announce that over $41,000 was raised at the 2025 Canberra Times Marathon Festival on Sunday 13 April 2025, in support of survivors of family and sexual violence (FSV) in Papua New Guinea.

This incredible effort came from the dedication of 33 passionate runners, including three members of the Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF), and the generous donations of their family and friends. Thanks to this overwhelming support, FemiliPNG Australia was the top fundraiser at this year’s marathon event.

Following the marathon, a special morning tea was hosted at the Papua New Guinea High Commission, generously supported by His Excellency John Kali Ma’o, CMG OBE. The morning tea – attended by runners, supporters, and members of the PNG community – was generously sponsored by Colonel Siale Francis Diro of the PNGDF.

The funds raised will go directly to supporting Femili PNG’s case management services in Lae, Port Moresby, and Goroka to assist survivors of FSV.

Femili PNG and FemiliPNG Australia extends heartfelt thanks to all runners, volunteers, donors, and event partners for making this campaign such a success.
